With Melbourne being one of the most populous cities in Australia, it's no wonder it's featured in numerous movies.
Below is a list of movies that are set in Melbourne and use it as a main location in it.
The Castle (1997)
The Castle is an iconic Australian comedy following the working-class Kerrigan family and their fight to keep their family home from being taken.
Featuring Michael Caton as the head of the family, Darryl Kerrigan, and Eric Bana in his debut movie role (as a supporting character) as Darryl's son-in-law Con Petropoulous.
The Kerrigan home is set in the outer Melbourne suburb of Coolaroo although the house's actual filming location was in the suburb of Strathmoore.
A small portion of the movie was also shot in the Victorian town of Bonnie Doon and gave rise to catch-phrases such as "we're going to Bonnie Doon" and "how's the serenity."
