What does Yeah Nah mean?
Yeah Nah is slang for no.
It it usually used as a soft or hesitant disagreement or rejection.
It is commonly used in informal Australian speech.
You may also encounter the much less common "nah yeah nah" which also means no but is used when the speaker may have changed their mind or is less certain of their answer.
Usage Examples:
- "You keen to go for a 5am walk with me?" / "Yeah nah, I'm good, thanks."
- "What did you think of the movie?" / "Yeah nah, wasn't a fan of it."
- "Is Jono any good at footy?" / "Yeah nah, he tries hard though."
- "Did you want to play golf today?" / "Nah yeah nah... it might be a bit hot for it today?"
